Akime – The 007 Filming Location
Minami-satsuma city is located on the west coast of the Satsuma Peninsula, and it has beautiful nature.
The filming monument for “You Only Live Twice” is at the Port of Akime, overlooking the East China Sea.
The 25th movie in the “007″ series “No Time to Die” was released last year. But, did you know that the 5th movie in the same series was filmed in Kagoshima?
The leading actor was Sean Connery, and the nemesis Specter also appears in the movie.
It is interesting that the Bond girl’s house and the enemy hideout are quite close to each other as the filming locations.
“007” Series and the Port of Akime
The “007″ series had already made 25 movies in over 50 years, and all of them have been popular. James Bond or the codename “007″, a spy of the British Secret Intelligence Service is always cool, and the stories ares thrilling.
Sean Connery was the first James Bond in the “007″ series and he had a masculine appeal. He also was the leading actor in the second to the fifth, and seventh episodes of the series. The fifth film of the series “You Only Live Twice” was filmed here in Kagoshima.
At the port of Akime, the scene of James Bond piloting his aircraft “Little Nelly” was shot. The Little Nelly was an aircraft called an autogyro, which was used as a military aircraft in the past.
007 Filming locations Are Dotted in Kagoshima
Since the monument is here in the port of Akime, it is obvious that it was the filming location of 007, but there are more locations for the same movie in Kagoshima.
The secret base of the villain Specter is set on a small island seen from the window of the Akime Museum in the same area as the port of Akime. Furthermore, the road of Kushi in Bonotsu town from the sky, the peak of Takachiho, and the central Kagoshima City are also in the movie.
It could be interesting to watch “You Only Live Twice” for the purpose of discovering Kagoshima.
