African & African Diaspora Heritage Celebration

This is an event held by Kagoshima City International Exchange Foundation. African cultures in the USA, Haiti, Kenya and Guyana will be introduced. Other events, watching movies and presented explanations about the movies’ cultural background are also available.

1. Opening Event

Place:International Friendship Center Kagoshima (19-18 Kajiya-cho, Kagoshima city)
Contents:Introduction about the African cultures in the countries of the USA, Haiti, Kenya and Guyana.
Introducing foreign picture books
Poster exhibition (Historical figures in the above 4 countries)

 

2. “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse” (2018) Showing & Cultural Background Commentary

Date & Time:February 13th (Sat), 2021  17:00 ~ 20:00
Place:International Friendship Center Kagoshima (19-18 Kajiya-cho, Kagoshima city)
Contents: This is the CG animation of the popular movie “Spider-Man” series. You can see the movie (Japanese subtitles) and learn about the cultural background.

 

3. “Coming to America” (1988)
