* *Walking across to Chiringa-jima had been impossible because the sandbar had been washed away after the typhoon last year.
However, now the sandbar is coming back!
You can walk across to the island again.
In golden week, it is possible to walk out to the island until the 30th of April.
See the link below for information about the sandbar appearance times (important: the sandbar linking the island to the mainland is only exposed at certain low tides, and then only for a limited time. Do not try to cross outside of these times).
The weather is getting warm, and it is the season that people start thinking about going to the sea.
Chiringa-jima, where you can across a sand path in the sea is one popular place to visit.
But, the path in the sea has gone because of typhoon damage last year, and it is still impossible to walk across to the island now.
The path will be reconstructed by the natural deposit of fresh sand.
However, this is likely to take some time yet.
For the moment, just hope that the day that we can walk across to the island will be back soon!
