Ohara Festival is the largest festival in Southern Kyushu and attracts a large crowd. The festival is held mainly in downtown Kagoshima's Temmonkan district.
More than 20,000 people parade through the downtown area dancing to "Kagoshima hanya bushi" and "Shibuya ondo" in addition to "Ohara bushi," a folk song representative of Kagoshima.
Furthermore, the up-tempo and dynamic dances "OHARA 21" and "Ogojo Taiko" will also join the festival.

Hana-Densha (a special tram operating before the festival) goes back and forth between Taniyama and City Hall while playing “Ohara-Bushi” and “Kagoshima Hanya-Bushi”.
The Hana-Densha will run from October 21 (Mon) to November 2 (Sat) at 1:15 p.m. and from Monday, October 21 to Friday, November 1 at 6:15 p.m.
In addition, the illuminated Hana-Densha will be stationed near the Temmonkan-dori tram stop on November 2 (Sat) and 3 (Sun), adding color to the festival.
