This is a traditional event based on a historical fact.
Samurai of the Kamakura era, the Soga brothers burned paper umbrellas instead of torches when they went to revenge their father.
Men dress in loinclothes, sing and burn about 300 piled umbrellas.
Before burning umbrellas, some Japanese traditional performances such as karate demonstrations, taiko (Japanese drum) performances, Jigen-ryu (Satsuma's traditional martial art) will be held.
