The 57th Chrysanthemum Festival in SENGAN-EN will be pomp-filled with 15,000 chrysanthemums.

The flower language of chrysanthemum is nobleness. People loved chrysanthemums for ｔheir ability to remove evil and wished for “furo-choju”, perpetual youth and longevity.

The world of chrysanthemum with Dolls clothed in chrysanthemum flowers and branches, a three story tower and other beautiful exhibits is waiting for you!

This year’s theme is “Heading Towards The 150th Anniversary of the Meiji Restoration　- The Restoration Was started by Nariakira -”. The two storied gate (Goromon / 御楼門) of Tsurumaru Castle which was burned down in 1873 is reproduced as a symbol exhibition of the festival at the site and it is decorated with chrysanthemums.

Some events such as a matchlock gun demonstration performance on the 13th of November, taiko (Japanese drum) performance on the 20th of November, traditional Kyudo (Japanese art of archery) performance in traditional costumes on the 27th of November, guide tours with lunch (booking required) and other things will be held during the period
