Senganen which was a summer villa and contained Lord Shimadzu's beautiful Japanese garden was constructed in about 1658. Many historic relics remain in the garden and villa. The garden overlooks magnificent Mt. Sakurajima and Kinko bay. Many seasonal and historical events are held throughout the year.
