This is a festival for celebrating Buddha's birth and is one of the biggest festivals in Kagoshima.
A famous parade with brides in kimonos taking rickshaws, a brass band, dance troupes, and others will parade from Shibushi station to Houman temple. People put hydrangea tea (amacha) on the Buddha statue, invoking good health.
