The slogan for this event is "Marathon Race and Feel Everything about Kagoshima～Hospitality of the Meiji Restoration Town～ "
Runners start from Dolphin Port towards the South along the seaside. Then they change direction around the prefectural office, and run along the tram line towards the north. They run past famous places in Kagoshima such as Tenmonkan Street, The Statue of Saigo and Sengan-en. They can also see Sakurajima and Kinko bay. After they make a turn in Shigetomi, they aim to finish at Kagoshima City Hall.

Traffic will be banned from 6:00 to 16:30 in the city during the race depending on where runners are.
