Shimadzu's historical museum located next to Senganen. The building was originally built as a steel factory for Lord Shimadzu in 1856. Objects from the 700 year history of the Shimadzu family, the war between Satsuma and England and traditional industries like Satsuma cut glass are on display. At the cut glass factory next to the museum, you can see the work and beauty of Satsuma glass. The museu was renewed in October 2005.
