Drop Bag

Simple bag shaped like a water drop. Easy to make.
(The bag in the photo is made with a 90cm×90cm furoshiki.)

How to Make

1.Fold furoshiki in a triangular shape inside out.

2.Tie a knot in the middle of the left and right sides of the triangle. The knots need to be about equi-distant from the edge.
*The knot placement decides the depth of the bag.

3.Turn the furoshiki right side out. (The knots should be inside of the furoshiki.)

4.Tie the two sides which are left together (knot it twice!). The place you tie decides the length of the bag handle.
*If you use bigger furoshiki, you can use the bag as a shoulder bag.

← (Town Bag)

Change the place to tie at the procedure 4 above.
If you tie the two sides right at point of the bag once, and then tie at the top twice, you can make a town bag.

How to Make

1. Put your furoshiki face down.

2. Tie A and D together twice. Make the A side longer than the D side.

3. Tie B and C together twice. Make the B side longer than the C side.

Bagging Tips for Shopping

When you make a shoulder bag or a tote bag in this article at a shop, spread your furoshiki over a shopping basket like in the photo above.
*Put the middle part of the furoshiki in the basket and put the rest up each side of the basket. Let any extra cloth hung down the outside.

Then, put the items in the basket.

Putting the furoshiki into the basket before the cashier transfers the items to it is the main point here! You can then tie the ends after you put items in the basket.

It is folded small.

Did you find a furoshiki bag you like?
Put a furoshiki in your bag or in your car, it can be a shopping bag, picnic rug, or present wrapping!
