Taisho (大暑) is the 12th of 24 solar terms in the traditional East Asian calendars.
Taisho (大暑) literally means big heat.
Around this period, the weather is fine every day and the temperature is shooting up every day.
Doyo (土用 / the dog-days) starts a few days before Taisho (大暑) and it continues during the period (until the day before Risshu / 立秋, the first day of Autumn, August 7th this year).
