Come and enjoy the New Year at Sengan-en, which was made by the 19th head of the Shimazu family, Mitsuhisa Shimazu in 1658.
Imagine Sakurajima as a man-made hill and Kinko bay as a pond, just like Mitsuhisa meant to borrow this scenery for the garden.
If you come in kimono, from January 1st to the 3rd, you can enter the garden free.
Other events such as Winter Peony Exhibition (December 30 ~ January 7), Mochi-tsuki (Pounding Boiled Rice into Mochi / January 1 ~ January 3) and other things will be held, too.
