“Yabusame” is Japanese traditional horseback archery which has more than a 900 yr history. The archer is chosen from among 2nd year junior high school students and is usually someone who has never touched a horse before. The archer practices very hard for this festival. The number of arrows which hit the target fortell the harvest of the year. The archer runs the horse three times on a 300m path and shoots the arrows three times each.
Many events such as Yabusama Samurai Parade, stage performances and other things will also be held.
