This shrine was built to enshrine the victims of the Satsuma Clan, who were highly respected for their war heroism during the Boshin War (1868-1945).
Today, the shrine enshrines more than 77,000 deities, including those who died in wars after the Boshin War and those who died in the service of police officers and others.
It is easy to park your car, and the approach to the shrine is spacious and refreshing.
The waka poem attached to the shrine's red stamp seems to be different each time, so visitors can look forward to seeing what kind of waka poem will be written next.
