It is a festival to celebrate Buddha's birth which is one of the biggest festivals in Kagoshima. A famous parade with brides in kimono riding horses decorated with bells, a brass band, dance troupes and others will parade from Shibushi station to Houman temple. People put hydrangea tea (amacha) on the Buddha statue, invoking good health.
This year, people will decorate the area around Homan temple with flowers and lights from 24th of April to 6th of May.
