KAGIHIKI MATSURI (HOOK PULLING FESTIVAL / 鉤引き祭)

This festival has more than a 300 year history.
Local people pull trees (male hook and female hook) which were grown at the shrine, and they invoke good crops, growth of forestry and safety. Those trees are about 15 meters long and fork into two branches. People in two teams pull the trees against each other.
