It is a festival to celebrate Buddha's birth which is one of the biggest festivals in Kagoshima prefecture. A famous parade with brides in kimono riding horses decorated with bells, a brass band, dance troupes and others will parade from Shibushi station to Houman temple. People put hydrangea tea (amacha) on the Buddha statue, invoking good health.
