Mojiko used to be one of the biggest trading ports in the Meiji, The Taisho and the beginning of the Showa period. Elegant western buildings still stand in rows in the town. This is one of the biggest events in Moji. During the period, they illuminate trees and buildings at Mojiko retro area. The shopping center is lit with the soft lights of Japanese lanterns shaped like puffer fish.
Hina dolls which are made in the Meiji, Taisho and Showa periods will also be decorated all over the town during this festival.
